In addition to our seminars and monthly programming, RQS hosts three major annual events.

QSim

QSim is an international annual conference on quantum simulation that aims to bridge theory and experiment, bringing together physicists, engineers, chemists, material scientists, mathematicians, and computer scientists working at the forefront of quantum simulation and related problems that include applications, algorithms, verification, noise, scaling, etc. for both analog and digital approaches. A special session midweek will be devoted to charting the future of the field. We hope that this conference will stimulate interactions across disciplines and unveil new connections between seemingly disparate aspects of physics.

Summer School

Directly preceding QSim, our annual Summer School aims to provide graduate students and postdocs with a broad background on which they can build their understanding of the existing challenges in quantum simulation and create opportunities for collaboration. The program features lectures from preeminent researchers in the field of quantum simulation, workshop sessions, and networking time. The Summer School is designed and hosted by the RQS Student-Postdoc Council.

Institute Workshop

The institute workshop brings together the RQS leadership and team of faculty, postdocs, students, and staff to share our research, education and outreach, and other accomplishments, identify new areas of collaboration, strategically plan for upcoming activities, and identify new areas of collaboration across RQS universities, industry, and government.
