Ronald Walsworth is the Minta Martin Professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering as well as a professor in the Department of Physics at the University of Maryland. He is also the founding director of the Quantum Technology Center and a Fellow of the Joint Quantum Institute. He leads an interdisciplinary research group that focuses on developing precision measurement tools and then applying them to problems in both the physical and life sciences. Walsworth received his doctorate in physics from Harvard University in 1991.
